Reindeer Dash For Cash Race Runners

This event is being held to honor our hometown hero, Captain Christopher S. Cash, who died in service to his country in Iraq. Proceeds from the race will go into the Capt. Christopher Cash Memorial Foundation of NC, Inc. which awards annual scholarships in his memory. For more information about "Operation Hometown Heroes" please click here.

Last year, in its third year in 2007 this race drew a record field of 477 entries, making it Greenville’s largest race. Brandon Hill won the featured 10 Miler in 57:29. Jessica Collins won the women’s title in 1:04:27. Blake Roberson (16:23) and Sarah Bibee (21:34) took top honors in the 5K. Roberson’s effort broke his own course record by 20 seconds.

Christine Reaser (19:29) holds the women’s course mark in the 5K.

William Christian holds the course record in the 10-miler of 51:41 set in 2006. Alison Holinka (1:01:50) holds the women’s course record in the 10 miler.

Both races begin at 1 p.m. and the certified courses are described as “flat and fast.” Both races start and finish at the Town Commons in Greenville. Both races will be timed using the ChampionChip.

You can also register on December 6, 2008 at Omega Sports from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Race day registration is from 11:00 - 12:30 at the Greenville Town Common (start/finish area). Please note registration will close at 12:30.  Race starts at 1:00 p.m.

Entry fee includes "one of a kind", high quality, colorful T-shirt and a finisher medal.

Packet Pickup

Pre-registered runners can pick up their packets at Omega Sports on December 6, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Late entrants can also register at Omega Sports on December 6, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. or on race day at the Greenville Town Common (start/finish area) from 11:00 -12:30 p.m. Race starts at 1:00 p.m.

Chips can only be picked up on race day at the Greenville  Town Common (start/finish area) starting at 11:00 a.m.

Prizes

10 Miler

Top Three Overall Male & Female Finishers will be presented a Cash award and unique trophy. Top Three Male & Female Finishers in Each Age Group will be presented a unique trophy.  All finishers will be presented a finisher medal.

5K

Top Three Overall Male & Female Finishers will be presented a unique trophy. Top Three Male & Female Finishers in Each Age Group will be presented a unique trophy. All finishers will be presented a finisher medal.

Age groups are as follows: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 56-59, 60 and over.
